Doc spoke about the teams calling card, and he expressed that defense will lead to their offense. For the past five years the Celtics have had the best defense. The only issue that comes up from time to time would be offensive droughts. Those droughts have been a problem because the Celtics stop playing defense because they become so worried about missing jumpers. But the Celtics seem ready for change.
Doc also spoke about the Celtics turnover issue. That's a major issue that needs to stop. The Celtics have always turned the ball over a little higher than should, because they pass the ball to much at times. The Celtics were very efficient when they didn't turn the ball over last year. The Celtics need to limit their turnovers, because their biggest rivals down in Miami thrive off of turnovers.
The Celtics have different offensive weapons this year, and it will only help the Celtics this season. The Celtics have always been limited on guys who can put the ball on the floor. This season they'll have Terry,Pierce, and Lee to provide a lot of that, and even Green is very capable.
Doc spoke about playing in transition, and not letting it go this season. The Celtics will have more chances when Bradley returns, but the Celtics have Lee, Green, and Sullinger to work with this season until Bradley returns.
The Celtics look to be the team they have always wanted to be this season, and the results will show if they execute everything Doc communicated during the interview.
