Celtics by the numbers: Overseas trip

The Celtics played very well in the second game overseas, but in the first game across the ocean. The Celtics gave up 97 points, which is 8 points higher than their 89 points allowed in 2011-12. The Celtics put on the clamps holding Armani to 75 points in the second game, and the defense came around overall, because the Celtics held Armani to 31% shooting. Compared to Istanbul shooting 46% in the first game. The Celtics only allowed their opponents to shoot a league best .419% from the field in 2011-12.
The Celtics out rebounded both Istanbul, and Armani. But in the first game the Celtics only won the rebounding war by five 37-32. In the second game the Celtics found something. They grabbed 54 rebounds, and they out rebounded Armani by 19. The bright spot from the first game was Jared's 5 offensive rebounds, and in the second game Darko had 9 rebounds all together.
In the first game the Celtics had an alarming 25 turnovers. I get it, it's the preseason. But it's still hard to stomach. The Celtics cleaned up their act, and they only gave up the ball 14 times in the second game against Armani. The Celtics need to keep their number around 12 a game this season. It's a hard task since the Celtics are one of the best passing teams in the league.
Offensively the Celtics have been on fire from the field shooting 50% in both games. The Celtics only scored 91 a game last season, so far they scored 91. and 105. We must remember that the minutes are reduced for Paul, KG, and Rondo. The offensive numbers don't mean a whole lot right now. But it's also great to see Jeff Green, Sullinger, and Terry explode off the bench. Without Ray Allen. I can already see what the Celtics can do offensively. And I love it.
Rondo has been an absolute stand out with his jumper. He's also 8-of-8 from the foul line so far. The Celtics are on track to have an amazing season once again. And the numbers will show this season. I expect the Celtics to keep their opponents around the same numbers this year. And I expect at least a hundred points a game this season.
