Celtics by the Numbers: Paul Pierce's legacy
Posted on June 30, 2013 at 5:10 AM | comments (1) |
Paul Pierce will have his number retired, and who knows. Maybe he'll comeback for one season on a cheap deal to walk away from the team, and fans that loved him for over 15 years. Paul has made a mark all over the Celtics record book. Thankfully in 2008 he got the biggest monkey off of his back with a NBA Championship and Finals MVP. So where ...

Jeff Green has become the player that many of us had hoped for. It's just seven games, but he seems light years ahead right now. In the past seven games he's averaging 14 points. His defense has been highly visible. He's averaging a shade over one block a game, and these are monster blocks that seem to lead to something big. One part of Green's game that I wish would show up i...

Rondo's assist streak ended when he was ejected against the Nets. During that process Rondo had two 20 assist games, and he had a few 15, and 16 assist games. In Rondo's last ten games he's averaged 8 helpers, but his scoring hasn't changed one bit. His minutes are down a bit, and he's been losing minutes since the bench has been performing out of this world...

After watching last night's game against the Spurs. I think Gortat sounds pretty good right about now. I don't know what it will take for the Celtics to start rebounding. Is it simply just blocking your man out. Something even youngsters learn in youth hoops. The Celtics simply can't rebound worth a lick. I honestly believe that the Cel...

One of the hot topics so far this season has been the bench production. The expectations are extremely high for this years bench that's supposed to aid the Big Three in the quest for banner 18. Last years bench had a bunch of misfits that overachieved. We fell in love with guys like Dooling, and Pietrus. The Celtics lost two of their best be...

I watched the Celtics broadcast on the Yes network lSaturday night when the C's, and Knicks squared off. I didn't watch the Celtics by choice on the Yes network, but during that broadcast I had to listen to Walt Frazier, and his partner speak about Rondo as if he was a second hand player. All they harped on was his jumper. They sh...

The Celtics played very well in the second game overseas, but in the first game across the ocean. The Celtics gave up 97 points, which is 8 points higher than their 89 points allowed in 2011-12. The Celtics put on the clamps holding Armani to 75 points in the second game, and the defense came around overall, because the Celtics held Armani to 31% shooting. C...
