The word moved us all in 2008, and it gave the Celtics something to hold onto during the most trying times. The word still means something to us fans, but the word has lost some meaning through the years. With the Celtics seeing turnover on the roster year after year. It's been hard to maintain the Ubuntu feeling of 2008. For the first time in a long time. It genuinely feels like the Ubuntu ideals have been reborn.
Not every Celtics team over the last five seasons left Matungulu quite so inspired. Indeed, in subsequent years, the concept of community started to erode.
“There were a few years here where you had guys with their own agenda,” he said. “(But) here now you don’t see any agenda. It’s interesting.
It did erode through time, and now it feels real again. Every year since 2008 Ubuntu was an empty gesture. It didn't mean the same as 2008. But not I feel like the Celtics can put together a Ubuntu mindset. The ideal will help the Celtics,
