A Look at the Week that was
Rondo pulls off the triple-double
Critiqued for his defensive effort, and offensive squandering. Rondo picked himself up, and pushed the ball up the court with a reckless attitude that set him apart from everyone else. When Rondo has a triple-double it's hard to decide if it's your favorite or not. It's like people with kids. You just can't pick a favorite. For me it would be picking my favorite Beatles song.
"I just knew he played great. He was sensational all night. He had one of those nights -- he had this last year in stretches -- where he just called a good game, you know, like he's a great catcher," Rivers said.
"He called a terrific game tonight."
Rondo has the power to do this almost every game. Rondo has the parts around him to be great this season.

KG woke up, and scored a season high 24 points against the Wizards. He looked stuck in his own cage, but he was the only one who knew where the key was.
"At this point my defense is definitely ahead of my offense," Garnett said. "(Rivers) wants me to be a lot more offensive."
I think its been over a decade that everyone has asked Garnett to score, and he will when he wants to. He is very cape able to score, but Garnett is a team guy first, and scoring isn't something he looks for. It will never change. The Celtics need it,but will never see it on a normal basis.

It was vintage Ray Allen hitting daring, and the best looking three-pointer ever all-time. The ball swings from one side of the floor to the other and the NBA's all-time 3-point shhoter comes around a pick or two before stepping up and nailing a jumper, and it looks to easy for him .Allen went 3 for 3 from long range in the final quarter, scoring 11 of his 27 points in the fourth, and the Boston Celtics won for the second straight night over Washington.
Rookie Greg Stiemsma, making his first start, had 13 points and seven rebounds, and two blocks that set the tone early in the first quarter. The crowd has fallen in love with Greg, and the fans have fallen for Greg. We love his energy on defense, and we love the fact that we may have a solid center backing Jermaine. Stiemsma has work to do on his game, but I love the progress so far.

Pierce after missing the first three games of the season finally hit his stride in his 4th game back. Pierce scored 24 points, and he was hot from beyond the arc going 3/5 for the game. Ray Allen sat out the game with the flu. Paul picked his game up,and the Celtics never looked back in a 89-70 win.
Celtics 6th man Brandon Bass scored 15 and grabbed 13 rebounds, and Rajon Rondo had eight points and 12 assists for the Celtics .
Kevin Garnett had 14 points and 12 boards, and Bradley finished with 11 points on his breakout game of the season.

The Indiana Pacers hadn't won a game in Boston since the Big 3 was assembled in the summer of 2007. The Celtics would get their first test after winning four games to below .500 teams.
"Both teams set offense back about 50 years today. It was awful to watch," Celtics coach Doc Rivers said. "I just thought offensively we were horrible. But I give Indiana a lot of the credit."
Pierce after having a mini comeback game fell below his standards with a 3-17 game from the field. The Celtics played solid defense, but their offense wasn't in the building. The Celtics would fall aprat in the 4th quarter, and the 4 game winning streak was gone, and the question come up again about the Celtics. The Celtics may not be for real. The road ahead for the Celtics will have many tests, and they can let this lose go,and move on.
The road ahead: Wednesday (1-11) home against the Mavs,Friday(1-13) home against the Bulls, and Saturday (1-14) away in Indiana.
Overall take of the week that was. The Celtics looked good, but it was good practice for the Celtics to get their footing in the three wins this week. I think the Celtics can make-up for the lose against the Pacers by taking care of the next four out of five games. Don't forget the Thunder next Monday.
