I'm pretty sure the Celtics won't play the 25th pick next season. If Avery Bradley could go in the top 5 or top 10 in this year's draft. It gives me a clear picture of this years pick in a weak draft. Doc touched on Bradley a litte yesterday.
He talked about Bradley, and how he could have played a little more last season. He missed camp, and he missed the pre-season, and that hurt his chances to get ready for the season. The Celtics haven't played a first round draft pick since the 2006-07 season. The Celtics have been title contenders since being a lottery team. The Celtics need youth, but youth in this years draft won't make any impact on the Celtics next season. I think the Celtics should trade the pick if they have options to.I think Danny made it clear yesterday that he's shopping the pick. He's also ready for no takers.
I touched on this a little last night in the Danny post, but the Celtics should package the 25th pick with Avery Bradley. The Celtics won't get a great player with this trade, but the Celtics could grab a solid young talent who could actually give us some playing time next season. I think the Celtics have their eye on next seasons draft, and that's the best mind set.
The only way I see the 25th pick playing? Just like Erden from last season. If the Celtics pick a center,or a combo forward that can play center the Celtics will play him. At the same time will their be any solid big men remaining at the 25th pick? Will found out what the Celtics do tonight. Until then let's discuss what might happen.
