The Celtics had never went up 3-0 in a series (current big 3 era),but that changed once Pierce nailed a step back jumper when time expired like the cheese in your fridge. The Celtics limped into the 2010 playoffs, and a few experts out there thought the Heat would beat the Celtics. The Celtics would fall into a hole that seemed to be their fate in-game 1. In the second half the C's bounced back for the win,but the scuffle in the final minute sent KG home for game two. ...

The EPIC playoff battle between the 7th seed Bulls, and the 2nd seed Celtics is known as the greatest first round series in playoff history. Overtime periods, and last second shots would trademark this series. The C's had no KG so the young Bulls had a plan to take out the champs. The series was tied 2-2,and the Celtics had home court to help their cause. The Celtics found another hole, and the Bulls gladly dug it for them. Despite the Bulls hanging in the game, and sendi...

One of the great performances in Celtics history? Could very well be. The Celtics needed a win,and after the bashing they took in-game 3 the Celtics wanted some payback. Rondo made great play after great play, and the Celtics would ride him all night. He was a true leader to the core on this night. Giving the right orders at the right time. Rondo played nearly perfect, and he had everything working for him. He was hitting jumpers, and making great passes. One sticks out ...

Boston coach Doc Rivers said his bench needed to be ready after the Celtics' Game 3 loss at home in the NBA Finals. With forwards Paul Pierce and Kevin Garnett and guard Rajon Rondo on the bench for most of the fourth quarter by design, forwards Glen Davis and Rasheed Wallace and guards Nate Robinson and Tony Allen erased Los Angeles' 62-60 lead after three. I can proudly say Shelden Williams didn't play. The Celtics exploded in the 4th quarter. The bench scored 21 of Boston's 36 points. Big ...

The Celtics went into the playoffs under the radar, and nobody expected much out of them. When the Celtics fell into a 2-1 hole against the favored Cavs the season looked over. Not because they were dowb 2-1,but how they lost game three in the series. When the Celtics went back to Cleveland tied 2-2 not many expected a Celtics win,or even a route like the Celtics handed the Cavs.
Ray Allen scored 25 points, Rajon Rondo scored ...

Make no mistake about it the Celtics, and 76ers don't like each other. From the battles in the 60's,and back into the 80's. Do they hate each other today? The players don't hate the sixers, but the fans still dislike the 76ers. In this era of Celtics basketball. The Celtics, and Sixers have fought in some close regular season games. They have come close a few times locking up in the playoffs, but it never happened.
Doc had this to say after Ray nails the game w...

The Celtics moved into the 2011 playoffs a little thin up front, and they ended the regular season on a downfall falling to the third seed in the Eastern Conference. Many experts if that's what you want to call them picked the Knicks to beat the Celtics. Not the majority, but enough for me to say what! The first game of the first round series between the Knicks, and Celtics played out all wrong for the Celtics. Amare was playing a great game, but he would suffer an injury...

The Celtics held the Hawks to 65 points, the second fewest points scored in a Game 7 in the shot clock era. Anticipation was clearly one of the feelings I had going into game seven as a fan. When your team goes to game seven your left wondering is this it? When your teams the favorite to win a series you don't understand how they got to this point. The Celtics found a way out,but it wasn't easy. They couldn't win o...

Kevin Garnett played for the Timberwolves for 12 seasons. He put them on the map,and in 2007 he was traded to the Celtics from Sota, and you know KG circled the dates on his calendar. The game wasn't pretty mainly for the fact the Celtics had the best defense in the NBA,but the offense was out of sink for the Celtics.
Garnett committed back-to-back turnovers - two of Boston...

It was only the second game in the big three era. The Celtics would fall apart in the fourth quarter, and the Raptors would force overtime.A game that started slowly ended in a wild finish, with one lead change and five ties down the stretch.Kevin Garnett scored 10 of his 23 points in overtime and added 13 rebounds. KG was starting the era off right with back-to-back double-doubles.Allen made the winning 3-pointer with less than 3 seconds to play, and finished with 33 ...

KG was off all game(4-15),but when it mattered most KG would be ready. KG was still recovering from major knee surgery, and he was looking for a major breakout. He was showing signs of returning to form, but KG was reserved to shooting jumpers. In the Knicks game it was all Paul Pierce he went off for 33 points, and the Knicks, and Celtics wou...

Davis was an unlikely hero, but he was taking over for a living legend (KG) anyways so the hero role wasn't expected by him.Davis made a 21-foot jumper as time expired to help the Celtics hold off a furious rally and defeat the Orlando Magic 95-94. The Celtics almost fell apart down the stretch, and almost fell into a 3-1 series hole. Davis went crazy after hitting the game winner, and who wouldn't especially if you're a second year player who pla...
