Celtics Beat Post New Entry

Rondo trade discussion has started, leave it alone

Posted by shawn cassidy on November 29, 2011 at 10:40 AM

Keep Rondo Danny. You want to save your legacy. Keep Rondo, and build around him. Paul is the better offensive player, but Rondo beats him everywhere else. Rondo can out pass, and out defend any day of the week. Lets remember this is all speculation by the media. This has been rumored before, and I'm sure it has some truth, but not enough.

Chris Paul and New York's hopes - TrueHoop Blog - ESPN

While Boston is not shopping Rajon Rondo, it would be open to trading him in the right deal, sources say. The Celtics feel they need more scoring to take the load off Paul Pierce.

Just say no in trading Rondo. It sounds good on paper because CP3 is the household name, and he can score, and many of us can be swayed in that direction. Danny has proven anything can happen, and I wouldn't be surprised if a deal would go down. I think Danny should focus on this team right now,and then focus on the rebuilding process,or patching up process in the summer of Dwight. Danny could be thinking that Chris will open up the door to Howard. Howard would get the ball with Rondo, and with Paul he would have to share. Finally this is the time were all of these crazy rumors pop up. Please don't get to sucked in.

You are missing the point. This isn't just a media rumor. This kind of stuff doesn't work its way out there unless Danny plants it. Someone is acting as a conduit for Ainge. And if you look at the way that shill sites, like Reds Army, are shilling away for this, just like they did for the Perkins trade, then you see the larger picture; Danny is softening up the Celtics public for a big move.

Boston fans at Celtics blog prove once again that they have no loyalty whatsoever to players, though they expect players to have loyalty.

I hear you Paul. It's a odd beast. I don't want to see Rondo traded. Why should we trade him? He hasn't been an under performer. He's the total opposite. He's become an all-star.

He keeps getting better, doesn't he, Franklin? Thinking back on the things that Shaq said this summer, that came out from his book this summer, it seems to me that the Big Three have something to do with this. I think they are trying to blame Rondo for the fact that they've only won one championship, when really they should have won two or three. As I see it, they don't want to recognize that the fact that they are on the downslide of their careers. Garnett hates to mix it up in the paint anymore. Even Pierce can't score on his own like he once could. Ray Ray needs a wide open set or a perfectly timed pass with two picks to score. And none of them are willing to hoof it up the floor, even though they are playing with probably the best fast break point guard in basketball. Just imagine what it's been like to be Rondo, playing with a passle of old folks who think they are really on a hot streak if they go off for two fast breaks in a game!

But maybe they think it's all Rondo's fault, and we all know that Ainge just loves to pull the trigger on big trades.

At this point, I look forward to seeing how Rajon Rondo does in another situation. I just feel like the Lockout changed a lot of things. Loyalty, especially team loyalty doesn't mean what it once did.

I like this Celtics Blog article:

fellow-celtic-fans

This is the first guy to mention loyalty. Without loyalty, if you ask me, professional sports are just a form of masturbation, a way for a bunch of pot-bellied losers staring at TV sets at home or in bars to feel like they are 4 inches bigger than they are. With loyalty, with the emotion that brings, pro team sports becomes a deeper thing, a celebration of crossing point of human endeavor and community.

People constantly talk about CP and Rondo, and trades in general, as if players were animals, or even auto parts. First of all, they are human beings. Second of all, the game is about a lot more than that.

And that's what makes sports fun, isn't it? Watching someone rise above themselves is just inspiring. Like Rondo running back into the game against the Heat when most of us would probably be crying on the floor of the locker room cradling our dislocated arms...

If Danny wants a championship this year, Rondo needs to stay. If Green is that good (as Doc and Danny believe), then Pierce (who I love, don't get me wrong) needs to come off the bench. I also think they need to find a star 2-guard. Love Ray but yes he is slowing down. Danny, go get Nene!!!

Jason Richardson could be a good pick on the mid-level,and Ray could come off the bench!

Trading Rondo will be another bad decision played by danny. Don't do it he is the best player you have plus he is still young and has plenty of time to become a great scoring offensive player. His defensive is astonishing along with is perfect assits. Don't be dumb here.
