This is the kind of thing I'm always going on and on about. Just look at the way Rondo attracts defenders on this play. Rondo and Pierce both have that ability - to attract defenders, thus breaking down the defense, and then finding the most advantageous way to pass out of that situation. The thing is, Rondo is even better at this than Pierce, and yet the team does not take advantage of it nearly enough.
It's not like drawing three or four defenders is unusual for Rondo. This is a guy used to running one-on-four fast breaks! Every time he attacks the basket, he draws multiple defenders and he knows how to pass from there.
